In this role, you will:

Be responsible for the safety and welfare of the children, supervising all children by sight and sound.
Work with your teaching team to implement a program that includes elements of the JCC’s integrated secular and Jewish curriculum.
Provide and maintain an atmosphere which is conducive to emotional and cognitive growth.
Establish and maintain good communications and a strong sense of community with directors, staff and parents.
Make families feel welcome by greeting them personally by name and be able to share specific information regarding their child.
Foster a collaborative, team-focused atmosphere, both in the classroom, your site and the agency.
Actively participate in staff meetings, trainings and on-going development opportunities.
Work with your team to maintain NAEYC, DCFS and Illinois state standards.

Days/Hours:
Various morning, afternoon and full day shifts available

Job Category:
Hourly, $16.50-20/hr., based on education and experience.

Education Requirements:
Minimum six hours on Early Childhood college credits.
Associates or Bachelors degree or higher in Early Childhood, Child Development, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Special Education.

OR

The equivalency of an Associates degree in Early Childhood, defined by NAEYC as at least 60 college/university credits with at least 30 college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Special Education.

OR

A Bachelors degree in any discipline with at least 36 college/university credits in Early Childhood, Child Development, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Special Education.

Other Requirements:
At least 20 years of age.
A love for children and a passion for helping them reach their full potential.
Ability to build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where children’s curiosity is encouraged and celebrated.
This location has a modest dress code.
